The Crazy Cyclist lives in South Africa.  He’s crazy about cycling.   Go figure.  But who is he and why did he actually start this blog? 

My name is Christoff, but my cycling buddies call me Sergeant most of the time.  I wonder why?  Maybe because I keep pestering them for not showing up at the gym for spinning classes as they should?  Who knows.

I’m also a keen motocrosser.  This is where the cycling thing started.  Back in 1999 I severed a knee ligament while attempting a 30m table-top jump on my motocross bike and not landing it as planned.  After the ligament replacement surgery, I started cycling more seriously since it’s good therapy for injured knees.

Nowadays I cycle more than I motocross, and my knees (and the rest of my physigue) are in better shape than they’ve been for the past decade!
